How to connect MetaMask with the Binance network (BSC)

MetaMask comes by default with the Ethereum network and today many DeFi applications are migrating to the Binance network because it is much cheaper and faster. Therefore, in this tutorial, we will see how to add the Binance Smart Chain network to our MetaMask wallet.

First we must download the MetaMask wallet.
MetaMask can be downloaded on Android, iOS and in browsers such as: Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, etc. In my case I will download it for the Brave browser.

Click on Get Started. We go to where it says create a new wallet and enter a new password. MetaMask will provide us with a 12-word phrase that we must save to unlock our wallet. If we lose these 12 words we will not be able to unlock our wallet so it must be stored in a safe place.

Reveal the 12 words, click on next and MetaMask will ask you to enter the 12 words to unlock the wallet.

Add Binance Smart Chain to Metamask

Click on the button that says Ethereum Mainnet and then on Custom RPC.

A tab will open where we must provide the data of the Binance network.

Network name: Binance Smart Chain
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com

Click on save and it will be added automatically.

As we can see, we already have our wallet connected to the Binance network. If we click on the button that says Binance Smart Chain we can change the network back to that of Ethereum Mainnet.
